Salary:
£45,000 - £49,000 per annum (Scale Point 28 – 31)

Reporting to: Head of Communications with a matrix line to the Head of Funding and Partnerships
Contract: Permanent
Working hours: Full-time
Location: Can be Hybrid (London SE11 Office) or Work From Home. Must be UK based.

The organisation was founded in 2002 with a £20m grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and started life as a research group, the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, within Imperial College London. Consistently ranked globally as one of the most cost-effective nonprofit initiatives, they have received significant funding since their inception including from the UK Department of International Development (DFID), USAID and philanthropic investors.

What they do

Their work includes:

  • Evidence-based disease elimination support
  • Cross-sectoral health systems strengthening
  • Building collaborative partnerships

Their main area of focus is the elimination of schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiases (intestinal worms). Endemic infections of these parasitic worms are found in some of the world’s most marginalised communities, and they can have a hugely detrimental effect on individuals, including: 

  • Reduced productivity Internal organ damage Impaired child development
  • Reduced school attendance
  • Increased risk of HIV in women Infertility

The role

This is a full-time role that works across the organisation's key audiences for funding and communications. The Digital Marketing & Donor Engagement Advisor plays a crucial role in executing the delivery of a digital strategy for the charity which will underpin their strategic objectives and their income generation and awareness raising goals. 

The role sits in the Funding and Communications team.

You’ll be passionate about delivering exceptional online experiences, excited by what’s possible in the digital and social media space and be driven to use analytics to shape what you do across a wide range of marketing channels including social media, websites, email marketing.

With a flair for crafting the right message for the right audience, you will help the charity build stronger connections with existing supporters, as well as helping them to reach and inspire new donors and supporters.

You will have a keen interest in global health and be adept at explaining complex subjects in an engaging and accessible way to the charity's target audiences.

The person

The Digital Marketing & Donor Engagement Advisor will have proven experience in marketing and fundraising at a professional level, with experience of MailChimp or other email marketing platforms. They will have strong knowledge and experience of content management systems in particular SEO, digital analytics platforms, data capture, monitoring and tracking. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working across teams and managing work with short deadlines without sacrificing quality of work or attention to detail, as well as the ability to organise workload and meet competing priorities.
