About the World Parrot Trust
The World Parrot Trust (WPT) is a global leader in parrot conservation. For over 30 years, we’ve worked to protect wild and captive parrots through field research, species recovery, anti-trafficking initiatives, and public awareness. We partner with local communities and organisations to deliver effective, science-based solutions that benefit parrots and their habitats worldwide.
We are now seeking a highly organised and collaborative Grants Officer to help secure vital funding that powers our global mission.
About the Role
The Grants Officer will coordinate the development and submission of high-quality funding proposals to trusts, foundations, and institutional donors. While the role does not involve writing full proposals, you will play a critical role in ensuring the process runs smoothly by managing timelines, gathering content from regional teams, and liaising with external grant writers and partners.
This role spans WPT’s global operations, supporting grants across the UK, EU, US, and other regions where we deliver conservation programmes. You will work closely with colleagues and collaborators in multiple time zones, so occasional flexibility in scheduling may be required.
It is an ideal position for someone who thrives on organisation, cross-team collaboration, and process improvement as well as wanting to contribute meaningfully to international conservation outcomes. You’ll also have the opportunity to support other Development Team activities, based on capacity and interest.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate grant applications: Develop and manage realistic timelines, and keep colleagues aligned throughout the process.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration: Engage with colleagues across Programmes, Finance, Communications, and Leadership to coordinate the timely collection of information for both funding proposals and grant reporting.
- Compile supporting materials: Organise financial data, project plans, monitoring frameworks, and partner information.
- Track deadlines: Maintain oversight of submission and reporting calendars.
- Maintain up-to-date records: Ensure accurate records within our grants pipeline and CRM (RE NXT).
- Support proposal review: Coordinate feedback loops, edit cycles, and approval processes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with grant writers: Provide information and guidance to ensure proposals align with funder expectations.
- Improve systems: Contribute to the ongoing development of grant funding workflows, templates, and reporting processes.
- Coordinate: Liaise with Funders, regional staff and partners across the world to support grants funding activities. Support the Development team: Assist with team-wide activities—such as donor communications, event logistics, or administrative coordination as capacity allows.
